Urgent appointments

To request an urgent on the day appointment:

Telephone us on 01302 782208, Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 6pm

Urgent on the day appointments can only be requested by telephoning the practice.

When you get in touch, you will be care navigated by a member of our reception team. We will use the information you give to determine the most appropriate clinician (Doctor, Nurse or other Health Care Professional such as Pharmacist, Podiatrist, Musculoskeletal practitioner, Mental Health Practitioner, Dietitian etc.) best suited to meet your clinical need.

Routine appointments

There are 4 ways to request a routine/non urgent appointment:

  1. Telephone us on 01302 782208, Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm
  2. Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday- Friday
    • Scawsby 10.00am to 6.30pm
    • Arksey Lane Surgery 8.30am to 12.00pm
  1. NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
    • Select ‘Services’
    • Select ‘Contact your GP about a health problem’ and then continue to answer the questions and fill in your request when prompted.
  1. Complete our appointment request form from our website to request an online consult request to consult with your GP Practice online and receive health advice. Florey link: https://florey.accurx.com/p/c86032.

Type of appointment we may offer you:

  • Phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • video call
  • text
  • or email

The flexibility of the above appointment types often means you may receive appointments sooner, resulting in faster treatment, as you will be ‘care navigated’ to a specialist in your required health need.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

There are 4 different ways to cancel your appointment:

  1. reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
  2. use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  3. using the GP online system – AccuRx https://florey.accurx.com/p/c86032
  4. phone us on 01302 782208, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help when we are closed, NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Emergency

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Additional Needs

If you need an interpreter, please ask.

If you have any other access or communication needs, please ask.

Chaperones

If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, please advise the Receptionist when booking your appointment or when checking in. We can arrange for a trained member of staff to be present.

This practice respects the privacy and dignity and the cultural and religious beliefs of our patients. If you would like to see a copy of our Chaperone Policy please ask at reception.

Home visits

Home visits are available at the clinicians’ discretion, dependant on a patient’s clinical need following assessment. The Clinician will aim to visit within 4 hours of the end of Surgery. Alternatively, and where more appropriate, they may pass your details to the ECP (Emergency Care Practitioner) service to visit on their behalf.

Enhanced Access

If you would like to take an Enhanced Access appointment (Monday Evening 6.30-8pm) please:

at Reception, either in person or over the telephone,

Complete a request via Accurx florey

Or via the NHS App and your NHS account – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

The Practice currently offers pre-bookable appointments during ‘Enhanced Access’ each Monday evening at Scawsby Health Centre (excluding bank holidays), between 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm.

If the Enhanced Access falls on a bank holiday, the additional hours would usually be moved to Wednesday.

The extended hours appointments are routine advance booked appointments with:

  • Doctor (GP)
  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
  • Nurse and Health Care Assistant (HCA)
